Hi, so... you would need to do a introduction, 3 paragraphs and a conclusion.
Introduction: Just states how sociologists look into the family's link within a patriarchal society and three elements of the family that contribute to this (2 that agree and 1 that doesn't)
Paragraph 1 and 2: An agree statement (for example the use of triple shift in families for paragraph 1 and the conjugal roles in paragraph 2), add which type of sociologist that would agree, for example functionalists agree that these maintain a patriarchal society because the man does keep his superior role in the family by being the one that is looked after in the home and is the breadwinner so doesn't take part in any domestic duties within the household which to functionalists make a man seem weak and lesser than a woman, give an example like I slightly have before and give an evaluation point (ALWAYS) which is a point that counteracts the examples given with the sociologist that disagrees (for example the idea that feminists believe that the use of new technology like IVF doesn't contribute to a patriarchal society because it means women don't have a man to work for, per say)
Paragraph 3: A disagree statement (for example any of LEFTINS (changes in Laws, Economic changes, Feminism, new Technology, Immigration, Norms and values, Secularisation) which disagrees that family helps maintain a patriarchal society (advisably use secularisation (women not needing to marry anymore if they don't want to because of less people being extremely religious) or changes in laws as you would have already mentioned new technology)) again use an evaluate point this time probably mentioning Marxism and the fact that the family contributes more to capitalism than patriarchy and then give a reason why.
Conclusion: Use your opinion to conclude and ALWAYS give a reason why and maybe with an example.
So... this was EXTREMEMLY long so if you don't understand anything just let me know. Good Luck!

Hi,
So I'm guessing you have already used either the idea of nature and nurture with an example of feral children and the primary agents of socialisation being the family with the example of the encouragement of gender roles for the for argument. So an example of the against argument could be the secondary agents of socialisation being peer, schools (you could link schools to a child's school life beginning quite early; around 4 which is also the time where the family is a primary agent of socialisation). Trust me I really did not like sociology when school was still open but I'm quite sure that is an against argument you could use; that what I would use. I just did well in it because I had to and you should do well so I hope that was some help.
