Very unlucky, so your not at risk from SSPE then?
It has never been brought up tbh. Maybe I am a bit old now and it would have surfaced already if it was going to.

Moved to Health.
I wanted it in the chat to spur more of a debate. I highly doubt that lots of people are on the health section.

It would have happened a few years after getting measles so I guess your all clear. I’m still under observation apparently because there’s a chance I might get SSPE.

Cheers. Who knows, a few years from now I might drop dead while shopping out with the wife and that’s that.

Haha, hopefully not! (though I appreciate the gallows humour)

So you’ve had measles as well? I don’t understand how your parents can be anti-vaxxers yet your father worked for vaccine developers?
My father had access to the full outcomes of internal testing, clinical trials on human subjects, GP notifications/related correspondence and most of the out of court financial compensation sums for alleged vaccine injury.
He also believes in eugenics.

Well I would have seen more of an interesting debate. Move it back? I did create the thread.

It's more relevant to the Health forum being a health related topic, thus it's to be moved to the Health section. FH's can't move threads back once it's out of their section.

Why not?
Just curious
I think that people are too casual about combi vaccines and overestimate their efficacy.
So many people instinctively deny/seek to avoid discussing known side effects and many healthcare professionals rarely bother to assess or even confirm diagnosed allergies in advance of recommending vaccination.

It’s a debate. You have it on here not many people will see it. There’s no informative purpose to the thread.

It's clear enough by it's title that some form of debate or question is to be incited, so I'm sure people will understand that aspect.

Rather than disagreeing with me, if you feel as though I've handled the situation badly, then you're more than welcome to report it.

I can’t be asked to report it and there’s no need to. I just wanted to have a really broad range of opinions.

1) why do you think people are too casual about combi-vaccines?

2) healthcare professionals do assess allergies beforehand.

I think that people prefer to focus on the convenience aspect.

Many healthcare professionals rarely bother to assess allergies and are open about the fact. Not all- but many.
The number of nurses I've heard trying to persuade my mother and anti-vaxxer parents of friends with multiple serious allergies plus very complex health problems that the vaccines were suitable for them, contained no allergens and carried zero risk of anaphylaxis.
Every time this happened it almost triggered panic attacks in the GPs and specialist doctors who overheard.

Ooh okay I see why you say that but side effects ARE really rare so no one talks about them and if they're not rare then theyre not that serious

The side effects are rare but they can actually be really serious sometimes.
