Hi! I have chosen Edinburgh as my firm choice and am trying to apply for university accommodation. I just got confused by one question during the process of application that asking me "If you are offered this accommodation would you like to take an extended lease to 03 July 2020". So basically if coronavirus is successfully controlled, I would go to university in 2020 fall, and that application is for 2020 to 2021. What does it mean by saying "July 2020"?

Is that just a typo, 2020 should be 2021? According to the calendar of the academic year in Uni of Edinburgh, semester 2 would end in May. So why would people still stay for another two months?

Probably? And I asked my friend, she said this means if someone wants to come to uni earlier (maybe for some language courses), they can choose to take an extended lease to July.
