By definition, an antibacterial substance can't kill a virus. But the very action of cleaning a surface mechanically with hot water and a detergent-based substance will remove/inactivate a virus, so you could say antibacterial cleaning products are effective against viruses: just not in the way you'd think.

As Reality Check noted hot water and detergent, or in this case alcohol, is more than capable of killing the active virus - just like it is bacteria.
