Does anyone know if Bristol University has a reading week? The eqivalent of a half-term. And if science students get included in this? (slim chance, I know)

Depends on the subject, but my flatmates last year who were doing a mixture of arts (ie; history) and sciences (ie; engineering, and perhaps maths and biology) had reading weeks.

Vets certainly not and I think medics didn't either, however both of those are very rich in content making completing the course and having reading weeks impossible.

Yeah, arts subjects do, but some science subjects don't (I think biochemistry is another that doesn't have reading week). Reading week is around mid-January and you'll find out in your departmental handbook which is given to you at registration in Freshers' week.

I'm pretty sure one of my engineering friends had one each term, certainly autumn and spring term.

first-year geology didn't...
not at arts subjects do- I'm philosophy and I've never had one- the department reckon we'd just use them to go on holiday or as a week-long knees up. I reckon they're probably right, but it's such a shame.

^^ Tbh they're absolutely right. As you say though, a shame. I don't get one in maths either..
