Following on from Sammylou40's post, there was a 'closedown' of television at about midnight and then no further broadcasts until the following evening. Later, there was some children's programming in the morning.

There was absolutely no need for 'daytime television' because who in earth would be watching the television in the daytime? People would either be at work or attending to their domestic chores. Sitting around to watch the television was just unfathomable.

Having a Prime Minister who had a clue what they were doing.
Old politics is better than today’s politics, where there was true honour in the job.

Losing your mates in a club and having no way of contacting them to find out where they were.

I still hear that now!
Except they do it over a megaphone. They've advanced. I still always only hear "bralaghhhboooonnnne" though πŸ˜‚ took me years to figure out what they were saying when I was younger.

Having to both remember telephone numbers and summon up enough courage to ring the house phone of a girl you might in interested in and having to speak to her dad ::afraid:

Also, if you made too many phone calls to said girl, your parents might put this on the phone:

Never knew it still went on. I can only recall a couple of occasions when I was very young.

Bionicles yes!
Also polly pockets that had rubbery clothes which were so fun. Until they changed them to stupid magnetic clothes. How is that fun?!

Whyd they go and ruin them 😭

Take that cape off and be proud of those pollys!! They were nothing to be embarrassed about! I dabbled in all things like most kids do. I'd go and play out with my friends and get muddy and filthy and scruffy as hell and I'd also sit and play dress ups and pollys and barbies. I loved my barbies and their dresses ❀️
See kids, you can do it all πŸ˜‚

Social media was MSN, Bebo and for those of us that liked music, Myspace.

You couldn't use the landline and internet at the same time.
