I had a question which I couldn't find online (it's not really clear)
I'm planning to withdraw from my 3 year university course (I'm in my 2nd year now), my final maintanence loan for the year is going to be paid to me in April. My final assessments will be in July.
If I withdraw in July or even August, will the payment from April be considered overpaid?
I still have rent to pay so I'm hoping that last maintanence loan payment won't be wanted back straight away!
I'm aware that eventually the debt will need be paid back (but I'm hoping that's when I'm earning over 21k, rather than immediately) with the whole virus situation and economic uncertanity, I am hesitant to get myself in situation where I have a debt I can't afford to pay.

Hi Jen, if you do receive your third installment and then withdraw, I think it's likely for you to receive an overpayment letter. The university would need to let us know the exact date you withdrew and then our assessors would re assess your application. Thanks, Isaac.
I've decided I will withdraw in September, before the next year of finance is given - I'm assuming they won't consider April as overpaid in that case?
If that means you have completed the academic year then you won't need to withdraw and then there will be no overpayment. You just won't need to make an application to receive funding to continue your studies. You should just let your university know you won't be returning. If they do contact us and say you left the course before September then that is the only reason I would expect you to be overpaid. Thanks, Isaac.

Thankyou Isaac, that definitely clears things up for me!
