Displacement reaction. What did you learn at GCSE about ores? You can talk so much about extracting many metals with this method and the use of each one. Titanium can't be directly displaced but still uses the reaction. It's a very useful metal for alloys, aerospace engineering, and surgical implants.

Electrochemical cells are huge and are a major research area in chemistry. The typical one is the Li-ion battery, but that's a bit boring now. Look at the lithium-air battery, this could be the future in terms of electrochemical cells.

Tesla have a huge Li-ion battery in Australia. This is interesting and can power the entire town for x amount of time.
