I did 8 gcses due to having a problem with my 9th due to my teacher can I still look at doing medicine ?

Yup you definitely can. I believe the minimum for most universities is 5, with Maths and English at a 5/6.
Yes you can. I dont see why it would be a problem

My main concern is some unis say ur top nine
universities will recognise that the number of GCSEs taken generally isn't down to the student. 8 isn't a problematic number.

Unis will consider that each college has a specific amount of gcses one can take so they take into consideration that the average no of gcses will be 8/9 at your college maybe so they wont care about the number of your gcses but more of the grades
