how do you work out this question?

The nth term of a sequence is 4n(n + 5).
How many terms in the sequence are less than 1000?

Hi,

I think you should start by doing
4n(n+5)<1000, then rearrange it so you are left with the quadratic 4n^2+20n-1000<0 and then solve it.

I think the answer is 13 (as the thirteenth term is the final term which is below 1000 according to the quadratic, meaning there are 13 terms less than 1000.
