What laptop should I get for uni?

I'm going to uni in September and I've had my current laptop since year 8 so I want to get a new one. I'd need it for writing essays, taking notes, doing research and other school stuff, but I want it to be able to support video games as well so it needs to have a good graphics card. I'd like to have quite a bit of storage - maybe 256gb or more? But my budget is only about £500-£600. Help :frown:
There are no laptops in your price range that are suitable for gaming.
There are loads of gaming laptops on ebay.

A couple of examples of deals you could go for:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Pavilion-Gaming-laptop-15-6-Intel-Core-i5-9300H-512gb-SSD-8gb-Ram/264576278852?epid=23035413343&hash=item3d99f9a144:g:NG4AAOSwHLFeAMYK

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-Nitro-5-AN515-52-57SS-gaming-laptop/184199934761?hash=item2ae32bf329:g:1rAAAOSwOQJeX4s6

With a bit of digging round, I'm sure you could come up with other gaming laptop deals.

Be aware that gaming laptops are heavy, plasticky, run hot and have short battery life compared to the great value for money used premium business laptops, such as the ones mentioned by bluewolf21. Just so you're forewarned of the compromises inherent in getting laptops with graphics cards and H suffixed CPU's and have realistic expectations.
