I am thinking of taking classical civilisation instead of Sociology, but I haven't done a history gcse, as I did geography instead. So I am wondering if I need a history gcse to do this course?? Thanks.

Not usually, but you could check with the sixth form to be sure. A good grade in GCSE English is generally fine.
