Hi, I applied for a job that was advertised as ‘bank healthcare assistant’ and I have been accepted and sent through new starter forms etc but the job title on these say ‘bank support worker’. I’m a bit confused, is support worker just another name for a HCA? I just thought it was strange that it was advertised as one job title but is now being called something else.

Bank is, you work when you are needed or when you are available. However, the role is exactly the same
It’s just another name for a zero hour contract

I understand your confusion. I am referred to as a support worker and healthcare assistant apparently interchangeably. I guess it depends on the context you work in. I work in a hospital and these roles are one and the same. However, a HCA working in a GP surgery would have a very different role to a community support worker.
Ultimately, it sounds like they are the same thing in your case!
