No. Expecting the unexpected is usually used to mean "be prepared for something that is surprising". "The Unexpected" could be a huge range of things, and so if somebody begins to expect what they thought would be one thing they hadn't previously expected, that wouldn't stop something entirely different from occurring, and that itself being a different, and therefore completely unexpected thing.

A chicken didn't suddenly exist, it was a gradual process. Primordial soup came first.

The eggs came before because spiders also lay eggs and spiders existed before chickens existed. It depends what type of egg you are talking about.
