Current carrying wire,right?So Flemings LHR
Then why is the current flowing in anti-clockwise direction according to the txbk ans?Pretty sure it’s clockwise.

For the left hand side of the coil
Pointer (1st) finger points to the left
Thumb points up - motion is upward
My centre finger, after a bit of contortion, points towards me out of the page on the left side of the coil.
On the right side of the coil, the force was downwards and my centre finger points into the page.
This would give an anticlockwise current

Think about the section of the wire on the left. It feels a force straight up. The magnetic field is pointing left to right. Does the LHR give us a current pointing into or out of the paper?

(I know the diagram is not arranged exactly perpendicular to the page, but I'm sure you know what I mean.)
