Is it too late to transfer universities for second year?

I am currently a first year philosophy and history student at the university of York and have had quite a difficult first year. Because of this I don't think I want to stay next year.
Does anyone know if it's still possible to transfer, or any information on the process of transferring in general? As feeling a bit lost here.

It depends on what course/uni you want to transfer to. Sometimes modules are transferrable if modules are similar. It would be best to speak with the uni that you want to transfer to. When I was at uni, I remember wanting to change unis around this time. Since I wanted to transfer from Computer Science to Computer Science at different unis, I was able to transfer the credits over to the 2nd year. It might not be the case for your course though but there's always a chance.

Hey,

In most cases it's possible but it depends on what course you are transferring to because the university will have to check whether the credits from the course you have been taking are transferable. If they are similar in credits the process isn't too long, but if the courses don't have similar units or have some/ a few similar units, you may be assigned additional work in order to catch up with the others.
Also the level of student loan you are entitled to may change so you may also want to consult your student loan company or finance office after you get a go ahead from your university.

Hope this helps.

Hi there, What university did you transfer to? Was it only possible because the course content was similar? I would appreciate really your reply🙂

Hi

I would contact the admissions department of the university that you would like to attend to see if there are any spaces available on the course and if they accept transfers.

I hope this helps,
