When students that were supposed to sit gcses this year apply to uni, will it be taken into account that we just got our predicted grades so there would be less of an emphasis?? Or is it worth retaking

They'll be aware of how the final GCSE grades were awarded, but it's far too early to tell whether they are likely to be more lenient because of this.

Obviously if you feel your final awarded grade is some way below what you thought you'd achieve, then it may be worth taking the actual exam.

Yes, they will have exactly the same weight and value as any other years results. But Uni's might consider the circumstances in which they were awarded.

well then they'll have to consider it for every single application in that year, we're all on the same boat g.

Hi there!

This current situation is going to affect us all for a while and when it comes around for you to apply to university, the universities will be more than aware from you educational history what year you were supposed to sit meaning you got your predicted grades and that is absolutely fine! I understand that so many students have got major concerns right now but please do not forget that every other person your age in the country will be getting there predicted grades too and will be applying to universities.

Your application will be treated fairly and with respect. Go and select your A levels, do really well! Make up for not being allowed to sit your GCSE's and come to university with your head held high because you deserve it.

Hope this helps!
