Ah sorry, I should have gave you a better reason.

Basically Leicester is a traditional university which is held in much higher regards by employers, I also feel I;d have a better time at a 'proper' university in my opinion. Hertfordshire is an ex-poly, low entry requirements, spread out, no accomodation, no university feeling, bad job prospects.

In my opinion, so I don't want anyone jumping on my back going "Well my cousins horse has done this"

hertfordshire is a a relatively new university, so its rep will increase in years to come. Thats why its not well known yet. Choose which you feel is best by going to open days etc. Dont just listen to 'snob'.

Reply 7

Then why did you apply to Leicester and not hertforshire? :s-smilie:

Hmm lets stop dealing in rumour and put some fact in here.

Leicester is not held in high regard for anything, apart from perhaps Donington Park...which isn't even in Leicestershire really.

Employers will not look at where you got your degree, but will look at what class of degree you have. If by fluke a leicester student has the same classification as the herts student they will look into how you compare in modules that are important to them. Having been a far longer established institute they will see that your grades are higher at Herts. Employers will also take into account extra-curricular activities, of which Herts has an excellent amount of.

No Accomodation? Have you been to the uni? There is roughly 5-6000 rooms available on campus which includes an option for a parking space, even for first years....something a lot of other institutions do not offer.

Bad company prospects, really? With extensive links to businesses in all sectors of society i think your statement was, to say most politely, *******s.

Oh God how many times have we heard all this?

Ok, as long as you don't apply for the good unis like I am, I'm happy, less competition.

Sense on side? Rofl.

In my time researching to go to, and being at university i have never heard anything good about leicester uni. Scrap that, i've not heard anything AT ALL about it.

Do they even have an engineering course?

Reply 18

Nice show of your "sense" there. As you should already know having researched the uni, it's a deep rooted engineering university.
