1975 reg Mark II Ford Escort. By the time I acquired it as a 21st birthday present 5 years later, it already had some interesting (but fortunately only cosmetic) rust😯.

They don't make them like they used to, as they say. Fortunately.

Ford Ka, white. The tax is only £30 a year and my insurance was around £1000 for the year. It has a low bite so it can take a bit to get used to as you may stall the first couple of rides. You can get them from a dealership at like £6,000 but if you look at second hand ones with a later date on them they can be as low as £2,000

A 2001 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa. It was pretty modern-looking for its time, but was a total money pit - not a month would go by when something didn't need repairing/replacing in it.

A 1.9 tdi would be sensible but insurance may kill you! German cars are good but over rated imo

Have you had any issues apart from the flat tire? I want mine to last 3 years so I can build NCB and get a better car when insurance cheapens at 21 years old. And ideally no mechanical issues in them 3 years. I heard the clutch is weak
