Are the free online Harvard courses worth it?

I study psychology and want to do the 'Using Python in Research' 5 week course.

However, it does not let you get a certificate at the end. Would I really need the certificate to prove to employers that I have learnt basic python using this course?

Yes.
The free Harvard courses are very helpful, high quality and informative.

It is not like the requirements for cpd courses; you don't need to comply with a minimum number of completed hours or have a certificate to prove that you have obtained basic python knowledge from this course.
The 'Using Python in Research' course sounds interesting.
I usually do free Harvard courses focusing upon religion, history, art and business.
