I'd say the best thing you could do is give them a ring and ask? I knew that ESPS is oversubscribed because they give out AAA offers, but I don't really know anything about natsci

How likely is it to transfer from IMB to Economics?

There's no realistic chance of transferring into economics.

Although it is possible. A friend of mine transfered from Philosophy to Philosophy and Economics... He did it within the first couple of weeks of first year and basically threatened to transfer to Warwick! I was surprised they caved in LOL!

There is a very big difference in the selection criteria and process between 'Economics and XYZ' and straight Economics at UCL.

Only if you meet the economics requirement (A* in Maths, A in Economics and A on any other subject) and the availability of place. However, I'm pretty sure that economics course are alway over-subscribed.

Hey can anybody please help me!
I have a place at UCL for med.physics, got results last week etc, but I really want to swap to either mechanical engineering or just straight physics.
Will this be possible?

I second this - but from Medical physics to theoretical physics. Any advice would be great :P

I actually ended up there - for the vast majority of subjects, it's okay provided that a) you've got the A level grades for the subject, and b) it's within the same department. If it's not in the same department, it's still worth asking - e-mail them, now!

Thanks and congrats! Actually I sent them an email and I am waiting for an answer! But do you know someone that succeeded in changing course from two different departments? Thanks

Thank you! I'm loving it so, so much - do the work and make sure you end up here, it's just so good.

I did (ish) - I swapped from Medical physics to Physics on results day. It's worth doing it as early as possible though!

Absolutely no worries - let me know if you need anything else.

Out of interest, what are you applying for and what do you want to swap to?

There's more work but you want to do it so the volume becomes irrelevant. You know that it's what you need and that the work you do will be reasonably useful, whereas with A levels there was always that feeling of "this could be useless". That's how I feel about it anyway.
