Purely I prefer Cambridge as a city, plus I think I’m better suited to the Cambridge degree, as opposed to Oxford equivalent

I’m thinking of reapplying, I’m in year 13

AS levels : Bio - A Politics - A Geog - A (and an RGS excellence award for the highest mark so hopefully counts for something)

GCSEs - A*999888776

Oxford
Durham (where I have an offer from and will definitely go in Oct if I get A*AA or lower)

I applied to Cambridge actually and got rejected post-interview. The feedback they gave me in April said the reason they rejected me was solely based on the multiple choice bit of my admissions assessment which was slightly worse than a few other applicants. Annoying that I didn’t get in bc of such a small section in the grand scheme of things but hey ho.

I’m applying for BA and one BSc and the course allows you to specialise - i actually love both and how they interact, but if I had to choose i’d say human

Hi kIrTaP,

I hope you are well during these unprecedented times.

I was in a similar position to azby1098, and I did enjoy both Human Geography and Physical Geography. There were subjects across both disciplines which I wanted to study. I would have found it difficult if I could only go down the one route- Human Geography or Physical Geography. Therefore, I decided to take the middle road and study Geography BSc(Hons). At the University of Huddersfield, I have been able to select modules which tailor towards my future ambitions working in the public sector for local councils and government bodies. Such as Cities and Planetary Urbanisation with River Catchment Management.

This wouldn’t have been an option for me if I decided to study Physical Geography BSc(Hons).https://courses.hud.ac.uk/full-time/...y-bsc-honsWhen looking at universities, it is worthwhile looking at the course structure and comparing and contrasting modules between different disciplines. You might find that one of the subjects modules are more suited to you.If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

All the best with your future studies,

Best Wishes,

Sam Townsend | BSc(Hons) Geography Student at The University Of Huddersfield
