Prickly PLC is a chocolatier selling confectionary, Easter eggs, ice cream and other related products. The products were often an impulse buy and with more people shopping online and less footfall on the highstreet there is less type of trade. People are also being more health conscious and cheaper chocolate brands are becoming more widely available.

To what extent should Prickly plc close some store to increase profitability. (16 marks)
sooooo confused.. can someone perhaps give me a rough plan to elaborate on or something to help me out please, the works overdue and I'm stressing out ugh :/

- the business is gaining more sales online then by footfall therefore closing stores won't have much impact on profits as they will still be gaining majority for revenue through online methods
- closing stores will mean the business has less costs such as rent and staffing(labour)- this can be reinvested into other functional departments (marketing), used to lower prices of the confectionery to encourage impulse buys or used for research and development of 'healthier' products.

mentioning the context of being a PLC is likely to get you more marks, but I don't know how to incorporate that into the answer sorry
