A unidirectional fabric is one of the fabrics where most fibres are in only in one direction, however, a little amount of fibre or another element might go in different directions which helps to hold the primary fibres in place. Also, other fibres might also give some structural features. Additionally, real unidirectional fabrics allow it to put fibre in the component specifically wherever it is needed in the maximum quantity only.
Non-crimp fabric composites are strengthened by including straight fibres. This gives it benefits like strength, lower manufacturing costs and is easier to handle.
and btw some of this info is from other websites so u might want to use those to help u if u need more detail.
