Social life at UAL/Fashion design

I really want to go to UAL for university after college, my biggest concern is the social aspect.
Is it relatively easy to make friends and whats life in the halls like?
What kind of societies are there?
Which halls of residence is the 'nicest'?

I hope to study Fashion Design and Development or Fashion Design and Marketing. If anyone has some insight on what the course is like for either, that'd be great

UAL is a large institution so there are plenty of societies and opportunities to make friends with people on your course or other courses, it just depends how sociable and motivated you are to make an effort. Both of those degree courses are based at CSM and your chances of gaining a place would be enhanced by studying on a foundation diploma first, ideally the fashion specialist pathway at CSM - another opportunity to make friends in a much smaller environment (relative to the degree campus) and also a chance to decide which of the two specialisms (or others) you want to choose. All fashion specialism are very competitive to get on to at CSM so I'd worry more about your application portfolio than making friends at this stage..

Hello Aliyamv1!

Happy to hear you're keen on UAL! Both of those courses you're interested in are at London College of Fashion, but as JanMay said, Central Saint Martins also offer Fashion Design courses if you wish to look at both.

There are SO many opportunities to make friends at the colleges, through working in Arts Temps, accommodation and at the Arts SU.
If you go onto www.arts-su.com it shows you all the different activities and societies our Students Union has.

Hope this is helpful!
