Cardiff accent

I wonder how is cardiff accent compared to other cities in terms of comprehensibility and 'elegancy.' I personally think that the london accent is the nicest.

Well i'm Scottish so you're screwed if you ever bump into me.

Unfortunately you'll probably be able to pick me out of the crowd from a mile away from my accent.

Cockney? You have to be kidding me? Or are we talking outside the east end. If so, it's not really much of an accent.

Anyway, I'd say fairly comprehensible. More comprehesible than a moderate to strong Geordie (Newcastle) or Glaswegian. Even then it's not so much accent that can be a problem but dialect.

You'll find a range of accents in cities anyway, certainly capital cities such as Cardiff (with plenty of students).
The traditional Cardiffian accent is somewhere between Welsh and Northern-ish, it's quite weird. However, to most people it's perfectly comprehensible, as it lacks the blurriness of other Welsh accents - sounds are much more defined.

I have a slight Cardiff accent, it's mostly evident in words such as Earth and ear. Ear often turns out sounding like 'yur'.
i live a few miles from cardiff but dont have anything like you typical "kaardiff accent" - a cardiff accent is quite different to a welsh accent.

A welsh accent - especially a west/north walean sounds very lyrical and quite nice but a cardiff accent is horrible.

How do you define a london accent by the way? i dont think there is such a thing as a "london" accent

Because you aren't going to a particularly good university, you're basing prestige on the accent of those around? That is what I see in the purpose of this thread.

Personally, I like girls with a cardiff accent more than girls with a cockney accent.

When I went down to the open-day, I was shocked that I only heard just a few welsh accents.
Which is a little bit of a shame as I quite like it
I have the people going to Cardiff on my MSN in a group labelled "Caaaaadiff" :p:

Heh mine's probably too much
the london accent is not the best, the carrdiff one is even though its not really an accent and more of a lack of a welsh accent but it is better than your accent, whatever your accent is unleless it is a carrdiff accent then it is the perfection.
