Thevenin Equivalent Circuit

Can someone please help with the Thevenin equivalent circuit.

when working out the Thevenin equivalent circuit, do the resistor in this particular circuit become in parallel when you short out the battery?

Therefore the Thevenin resistance is 1.6 ohms?

If you short out the battery, all 3 resistors have one end common at A, and the other end common earth at B. So parallel. Yes.

Thank you so much for your reply, does this look like the Thevenin Resistance 1.6 Ω ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

RT = 1/8 + 1/3 + 1/6 = 0.625

1/RT = 1/0.625 = 1.6 Ω

Yes that's the correct value for the 3 resistors in parallel.

Thanks,

I’m trying to find the thevenin resistance to the circuit.

Would you agree it is 1.6 ohms ?
Yes. The Thevenin equivalent resistance is what you have calculated, being the resistance obtained when the voltage source is shorted out. Yes it is 1.6 ohms.
