Is A level English compulsory for international students for post-graduate studies

I'm currently doing my A levels with 5 subjects and in order to reduce some burden and focus on the other, I'm thinking of dropping A level English. I was to sit for my AS English paper in May June, however, it got cancelled. I was wondering if A level English is compulsory for international students looking for admissions at the uni level in the UK.

No. The vast majority of students in England don't take A level English (language or literature) and there is no need for you to do so. You will need an IGCSE in English Language (probably First Language) or an IELTS qualification to prove your competence in English.

I have an IGCSE English Language certificate. Thanks for the response.
