Hello

I am investigating pursuing a degree in the physical/biological sciences. I will soon come to the end of my undergraduate studies in an unrelated subject area, but I am considering a different career path.

I am currently 25 and have used up my four years of SFE funding (one year of the three was used up for unspecified reasons).

In order to do this, I would need to complete an Access to Higher Edcuation course Science diploma, which, of course, also requires funding.

I believe there exists such a thing as an Advanced Learner Loan from SFE for those aged 19 and over. I read somewhere that Access course funding was cleared upon completion of a degree in the future.

First, would I even qualify for Access course funding?

Second, would I have any options for university funding given my initial degree?

Many thanks.

You can get an ALL for cover Access fees regardless of previous study.

If you hold a degree then you get no funding for studying a second degree full time (except for a handful of health professionals courses) - there is funding available to study a second degree part time (not distance learning) if ot is classed as a STEM subject.
