Hey!
I'm in year 12 and I'm doing History, Psychology and English Literature+an EPQ for A-levels.
I'm going to apply for History and Politics at Cambridge Uni and it mentions that you have to submit written work/coursework.

1) What is the essay/work/coursework about?
2) What questions are I going to be asked during the interview regarding to the work I will have to submit to the college
3) What questions can I be expected to be asked?
4) Do I have to take an entrance exam in order to study History and Politics at Cambridge

1) It will be one of the pieces of coursework you do for your A-levels, usually they want to see it with the teachers marks/comments after it's been graded. I imagine they will want to see a piece of history coursework, but you may need to check the course web page to check.

2) and 3): It is against the TSR terms of use to share specific interview and exam information. Nobody can tell you exactly what questions they were asked, and if they do it will be moderated. Oxford publishes past interview questions that they no longer use each year, so Cambridge may do the same - it'd be worth looking into. Certainly if nothing else the Oxford questions will probably similar. Generally they will be looking to see how you think about topics and use what you do know to approach unfamiliar problems, and how you adapt your argument when provided with new information. They aren't testing what you know, but how you think (and how you can think on your feet in a supervision style environment).

4) This will be stated on the course web page.

I am very pleased that Harrys has sent you the wonderful Cambridge chapter on history.

We don't have a similar one on politics but here is a chapter about the politics, philosophy and economics course at Oxford.

https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=6436380

Let's look at the course web page:

https://www.undergraduate.study.cam....y-and-politics

info about the essays

https://www.undergraduate.study.cam....submitted-work

The standard offer is A*AA and you will be required to sit an admissions test at interview.

Can't actually see any sample questions at all for history and politics freely available on the internet, but here are some history ones

https://www.cambridgeinterviewquesti.../arts/history/

https://sites.google.com/site/oxbrid...stions/history

Because of TSR guidelines (see artful lounger's excellent post) I specifically asked the chapter writers not to include their interview questions. This is because they may be used again and would give the reader an unfair advantage over other candidates.

Thanks for your great informative reply but I want to study History and Politics at Cambridge and wanted to ask whether or not it requires an admission test or if I just have to hand in a piece of coursework which will be discussed at the interview.
