why do people say i look intimidating

So I’m a girl, I’m pretty average looking in my eyes nothing special. But for some reason everyone around me after becoming friends with me admits they thought I would be mean or rude or that they found me scary. I know now that my resting face can be quite serious but if I really looked that scary then why would strangers constantly approach me. Strangers often ask me for help and every once in while a stranger will start a conversation with me. Also I’ve also been asked for my number a couple of times while I’m shopping or on public transport. Ive also noticed a few guys have crushes on me but no one has ever admitted it personally to my face. I used to think maybe because I’m black so I’m viewed as more aggressive however even my black friends say they were intimidated by me at firstI feel like my appearance is just hindering my daily life but I see nothing wrong with myself. What do people on here find intimidating in a person.
