Turning 1 B into an A is of little difficulty in comparison to turning a string of Bs into As.

Yeah I think NB does have a point. If you dossed a bit and screwed up a few exams and came out with 230 then sure you work your ass of at A2 and you'll probably be fine. But if you slaved all this year and could only manage 215 then it's not that likely that you can manage 265 in all next year's exams.
