OCR re-marking and requesting exam scripts

do you have to do this through your school? i can't find much on the OCR website, and if i do decide to request my script or get a re-mark i would rather do it now than wait until we start back at school.

also, what is 'priority re-marking', and how long do the exam scripts take to arrive if you do request one?

thanks.

Yes you would have to speak to the examinations officer at your school! Priority remarking is usually for students who have a uni place that depends on the outcome of the remark!

The time it takes can vary!

Scripts take around a week I think to arrive.
Does anyone know how long actual remarks take to arrive?

Right, I've just sent for a priority remark so thought I would help you guys out. Here's the cost in my school:

Priority re-mark: AQA - £44.80, Edexcel - £38.00, OCR - £39.00 (These are usually only available to A2 students because our place at uni depends on it!)

Re-mark: AQA- £38.85, Edexcel - £33.00, OCR - 31.50 (These are available in most schools to both AS and A2 candidates)

In terms of time, I have been told that my priority remark (with OCR) should return in around 1 week, but of course that is an estimate.

If you want a script, the exam board charge less. Remember however, there are two types of scripts - the original and a photocopy. If you get the original, as far as I am aware, you can not ask for a remark. If you get a photocopy, as far as I am aware, you can request a remark. Below I've given the price range of requesting scripts with the three main boards (AQA, OCR, Edex:

Photocopies script - £9.50-£10.50
Original script - £7-£8.20

You must go through your school to request for anything above. Now these are the costs at my school, and I presume the cost is the same at all schools and colleges.

If anyone wants any more info on this, please ask!

I was told that for AQA non-priority remarks take 2-3 weeks so I'd guess its similar for OCR

For a Photocopy script do you have to bring the exam certificate or anything or just the money and the name module and subject you want?

Well when I went for a remark, my examinations officer wanted to see my results sheet. I presume she would want to see it for a photocopy script request too. Just to be sure, take your results sheet along so that if you do need it, you won't have to return home for it!

this might sound really dumb but is there a physical difference between the photocopy and the original? because i've ordered a paper but ive just looked at it and realised i really need it remarked.

you'd have been better off starting a new thread than dragging one up 4 years old, but I can asnwer your question.

The terms 'photocopy' and 'original' are historic but still get used, these days they are officially 'priority script' (= photocopy) and 'non-priority script' (=original) but for Edexcel and OCR they will both be an emailed pdf copy. However, non-priority scripts are only sent out AFTER the re-mark request deadline so if you have got one of these and want a re-mark it is too late.
