I've applied for accomodation through the shu website (https://www.shu.ac.uk/study-here/accommodation/how-and-when-to-apply) . If you are applying through the website, I'd recommend that you apply as quickly as you can because there is an allocation criteria.

As mentioned above our accommodation pages on our website are a great place to start, all first year students are guaranteed accommodation with us, however, it is allocated on a first come first served basis. So its a good idea to apply as soon as possible once you have picked your firm and insurance choice.
