This question is asking you to classify sound wave and water waves as a transverse wave or longitudinal wave.
Sound wave - transverse wave or longitudinal wave?
Water wave - transverse wave or longitudinal wave?
So the differences are just the differences between transverse wave and longitudinal wave.
Spoiler:
Note: water wave at higher level of physics is usually not considered as a transverse wave.
