Useful Dates 2008-2009
Right, I've seen a lot of confusion over term dates, moving in dates and such like on here; so I thought I'd compile a list of the most useful dates here to prevent further puzzlement. Contrary to what it says on UCAS Track, term does NOT start September 1st!
2008
September
Monday 1st: Move in date for Unite's Joseph Stones House
Saturday 6th: Move in date for Unite's The Plaza, Concept Place and The Tannery
Friday 12th - Saturday 20th: Move into University-Owned accommodation (Check your contract for exact date)
Monday 22nd - Friday 26th: Freshers' Week
Wednesday 24th: Session Begins
Monday 29th: Semester 1 Teaching Begins
December
Friday 12th: Semester 1 Teaching Ends
Saturday 13th December - Sunday 11th January: Christmas Holidays
Wednesday 24th December - Friday 2nd January: University Closed
2009
January
Monday 12th - Friday 23rd: Examinations
Monday 26th: Semester 2 Teaching Begins
March
Saturday 21st March - Sunday 19th April: Easter Holidays
April
Thursday 9th - Tuesday 14th: University Closed
May
Monday 4th: University Closed (Bank Holiday)
Friday 8th: Semester 2 Teaching Ends
Monday 18th May - Friday 5th June: Examinations
Monday 25th - Tuesday 26th: University Closed (Bank Holiday)
June
Friday 19th: Session ends
Saturday 20th June - Thursday 9th July: All students vacate accommodation (Check contract for exact date)
NB: The University is also closed every August Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday.
Term 1: Monday 29th September – Friday 12th December
Term 2: Monday 12th January – Friday 20th March
Term 3: Monday 20th April – Friday 19th June

Forget to mention that there's no-one in any offices on any Tuesday after a bank holiday monday, so don't bother trying to contact anyone!
