OCR AS Level Drama - mistake?

Howdy... basically im in utter shock at the result I got for my Drama and Theatre Studies AS. Throughout the year I have been predicted B, with a possibility of getting an A. Yet somehow thats gone out the window!

Unit wise, I got an A for written coursework. Which is great. But then Ive got a D for my performance piece. This has totally confused me. After my performance everyone including both of my Drama teachers were congratulating on how well I'd done. On the other hand someone else who forgot their lines etc ended up with a C for their performance. Also I somehow ended up with an E! in the end of year written exam. Surely Ive proven I can write well etc with an A in coursework and I felt I did ok in that exam. So I have no idea what happened there?! Lol. Overall I ended up with a C.

Sorry for the read! Hopefully some of you have some advice etc of what I can do? I was thinking of possibly getting remarks, because I believe that for me personally getting a D and E in Drama is ridiculous!

Thanks for your time

Ahh no replies yet :P Well i got the exam board mixed up, its actually edexcel! And from what ive read theyre not great at this kind of thing. What do you all think?

I was with edexcel from gcse to a2 for drama, never really had issues with them but there was a one group at gcse who group of 6 none of them got better than a C and it wasnt a bad performance, you can just get bitchy judges come in, but still they got that remarked from the video and not a mark was changed.

hmm AS written paper, you have to rememebr the coursework for drama is marked internally and they arent really as strict for sending it off for moderation either so no doubt a few marks were inflated, seems a bit odd to get an E in the written paper but you could very easily have misread questions and not know it, you know written an answer when it said draw a stage or something, or the section where you have to talk about your own performance just not been as deep or used enough technical language. same goes for when evaluating the performance that you went to see, if you didnt mention enough of the different aspects of the piece they can't give you the marks.

if you are taking A2, brush up on the language this is where marks are made and lost, and theatre practitioners, this year you probably did Brecht and Stanslavski right? you'll do a couple more next year, and techniques like the Magic IF and Given Circumstance etc etc.

I'm also surprised. OCR is really tough this year with the Drama because one of my friends who is really good in the subject got a D and my other friend got a U. I was really surprised. I was really scared to open my results because almost the whole class failled excluding me and a few other people. I think you should get a remark.

I strongly suggest anyone doing AS subjects with OCR this year who got worse grades to what they were expecting to get to check their marks against the grade boundaries on the OCR website, because I got 48 marks in a unit that was out of 50 and was given an E for that unit. The grades of my entire drama class are weird like this. I think there may have been a mistake with the mark totalling at OCR this year and if your marks don't check out please contact your school and see if they can start an investigation into it with OCR.
