Starting salary in London?

Is a starting salary of £20 - 25k pro rata for an music graduate in London good?

How much would a starting salary be for a music graduate with a Masters degree?

How much would a salary rise once one obtains a Masters degree?

Hi there,

That range is round about the average starting salary for graduates and the higher end of that would be more like the London average. It does, of course, depend on the role and the industry you go into. Having a degree or will open the door to a lot of graduate schemes, for which you could expect that kind of salary. However, if you wanted to pursue music as a career, your salary could be vastly different. Some music graduates might go to work in events or promotions while doing concerts or gigs in the evenings, in which case your salary could be lower. If you did a masters and went into teaching, for example, you could expect that kind of salary range. In short, a degree or masters doesn't necessarily guarantee a higher salary, it really depends on what kind of roles you'd be applying for afterwards.

Hope that helps - Mark
