its clearly the place to be for law...also funny story i went down to the uni this saturday (it was all closed) but just wanted to have a 'butchers' of where im going and i ended up in a solicitors conference that exeter was holding to encourage grad recruitment....there were some big names there, mills and reeves, hogan lovells ect
Ooh very nice I'm surprised so many people are going to Exeter for law cz from where I come from people think it's A BIT far, so they've been put off from applying :/ Anyways I've decided St.Germans, Rowe and Birks Grange! Finally haha. What about you??

i do not see distance as to much of an issue...also i think the fact the campus is actually quite nice is why people are prepared to travel even though there are many other very good straight A universities for law. Holland hall hopefully for moi and then exeter halls but not sure which on ...im hoping the fact that I have an unconditional will bank my place at holland early (also got to have a view room as the view is one of the main reasons you go to that block).... are there any clubs at all in exeter...i went there a few days ago and all i saw were pubs...nice pubs...but thats it???

From what I heard, there are some but they're not that great Luckily I'm more of a pub person ^^ I agree btw if the uni's good, I don't mind the distance.

Unfortunately you can't request a room with a view when choosing your accommodation...so you'll just have to get what you're given, like everybody else!

yes you can....there is a drop down list of preferences when you apply and it asks if you have applied to holland hall and if you want to pay extra for a room with a view...and i put yes ..????that was a very weird objection btw...perhaps you should re-read the application for accom ??/

Well I just thought you sounded a bit precious, that's all. Anyway, I don't need to re-read the application for accomodation, I graduated from Exeter last year, so I've been there and done that, and I would have no idea about the preferences for Holland Hall because I "slummed it" in Lafrowda and loved every second for about £100 per week less than Holland. I thought rooms with a view were allocated on a random basis, and that was probably the case a few years ago, instead of giving people the option to pay extra. Seems that Exeter has found another way to make money out of people with cash to burn

*precious-have absolutely no idea why you have described me as valuable??wrong context of word maybe? I told you to re-read so you could avoid making ignorant comments on TSR, also if you had no idea on applying to holland why bother to comment in the first place. Holland Hall has a really nice view thats why i would like a room with a view... these are not difficult concepts to grasp. I really do not care where you stayed, an actual university applicant asked me where i had applied for accom, so I told them...why did you take this as an invitation to put in a wrong viewpoint and then highlight the fact that im burning money on a room with a view, bare in mind this was a personal choice and the extra cost is marginal. I dont think the exeter degree has done you any favours

It has done me some favours..if only because I understand the meaning of "precious" in that context.
Clearly you need some more education, so enjoy your time at Exeter and do listen in lectures.
No comment on Holland, my bad for assuming that things had stayed the way they were when I applied.

no no no you can't just claim to know what context it was and not explain it, also why do I need more education for asking why you called me scarce or valuable, this is not an unreasonable question and does not warrant a claim that I need to 'study' more. It is a confusing description of someone, especially of someone you dont know. I would like more eucation however hence the application to university. All you have done is respond in a child like fashion on the grounds of what I had previuosly said which is that your lack of knowledge and arrogant responses to questions nobody asked you presents you as an irrational person, hence the comment that your degree that is there to help make you a more rounded and open person has failed, also one should avoid using 'i know you are but what am i' comments as they demonstrate that person as being fustrated.
And of course no comment on the Holland Hall issue as you did not have any idea right from the start about what you were talking about.
So jealous of you all just starting in September! Graduating this July and never want to leave. Exeter is BEAUTIFUL and your brand shiny new campus is starting to look amazing. Shame my time at Exeter was overshadowed by the building works.
