I'm from Barcelona (spain), and this summer I'll be in Exeter working as an au pair, but in september I'll come back to barcelona because I'm teacher of primmary and I'll start to work in the school.
Can you recomend me some places to visit in Exeter?
Hello

I've just confirmed my offer to study Politics and International Relations at Exeter and received the grades I need for my place!

Would be great to chat to some people before arriving!
Yayy, I just got an unconditional offer to Exeter. Was wondering who else is taking law first year here too
I have only just applied for accommodation through the University of Exeter.

I'm just curious as to a few things...

What accommodation fees will I be expected to pay before Uni actually starts, e.g. one month's rent in advance, deposit, etc.

Also, if I fail to meet my offer and end up going to my insurance choice, will I get my deposit back (if this is paid before August 14th) or not?

The Uni website is not clear on this issue at all!

Cheers guys.

I'm not 100% sure but from what I remember, you only start to arrange payments after you meet your offer, and it's just an accommodation deposit of around £300, which is taken out of the last 2 term's rent cost.

Hey everybody! I am an Erasmus student from Turkey and I will be studying Economics at Exeter through Flexible Combined Honors this Fall.
Hey new Exonians! I'm the current president of PearShaped Magazine, the university's online music magazine. We're a student society who encourage music journalism in the student body, promote live music in the area, and produce a great source of local and global music journalism.

We're always looking for new members and writers so look out for us on campus during Freshers' and be sure to get involved if you love music!

PearShaped President
Hi, provided I get the grades, which are A*AB, so I'm a little worried I won't, I will be studying History this September
Should I have started applying by now for student accommodation ?

Yeah! You have until July 31st to apply for accommodation at Exeter Uni. They won't process an application for Uni halls after that date and you'll have to find somewhere to privately rent otherwise.

Um I don't think this is necessarily the case... From what I read, you need to submit your application by the 31st to be guaranteed accommodation. If you submit it after, your application will still be processed, just after all of the ones that were submitted by the deadline and then also first come first served. This could mean that you may not be able to be allocated accommodation if they happen to run out.

So you should apply before the 31st so you don't chance missing out.

I think you should still apply before July 31st. I rang the Student Information Desk and she told me to apply as soon as possible.

So own up - who's coming to the wonderful place that is Exeter? What subject are you doing? Tell us!
I'm not going to stalk you...
:woo:

 MSc International management ..
Just wondering if I apply for student accommodation but decide to defer on results day, do they take a deposit and does anyone know how much it is if they do ?
I know it's a bit impractical but I just can't decide what I want to do, don't really feel ready for Uni tbh.
I'll be studying Physics with a year in industry, who else is studying Physics at Exeter this September?

As far as I remember my deposit was £150 but you don't pay until your offer is confirmed, so if you don't meet your offer you won't lose any money.
