I'm kind of having a meltdown, I'm not sure I feel mentally ready yet for Uni and I'm considering deferring my entry but I've made no plans for a gap year. Would just working for a year be a waste or should I just go for it and head to Uni? Getting a bit too close now.

What would 'feeling mentally ready' look like? Would working for a year get you closer to it? It's very normal (and no bad thing) to have some worries about aspects of uni...

Definitely don't make any rash decisions - try and work out whether this is just last minute nerves or if you're really not ready. There is no harm in taking a last minute gap year, if you've been in school most of your life then it can be really really helpful to take some time out and get a job, see a bit more of life. Mine definitely gave me so much more confidence when I did go to uni.
Like I said, don't do something that you might regret, try to really think it through. Good luck
hey, if anyone's doing English at the Streatham campus: are you buying the books now, or when you get there? This could also apply to anyone doing degrees with compulsory reading or modules with textbooks. So, any course ever.
