optometry resit? help!

im a new member to this student room thing but i would jus like some advice please. sorry if there is already a thread like this...

i got my alevel results and got ACC in economics biology and chemistry but i needed AAB/ABB to get into optometry...i went thru clearing but was not accepted. :no:

i was wondering if it is worth resitting working from home and retaking some bio and chem modules to bring the grades up.
i rang up the unis asking if they accepted resit applicants and city aston and cardiff allow them. only 3 unis i could technically apply to.
is it worth resitting or not? and if i do would i have to change my personal statement or could i use the same one as i did last yr?

Hi, i resat and now ive just got into aston...it is worth retaking...you could easily push up your C's to B's or A's....but your offers for optom next year are going to be AAB....btw did you try bradford with ACC?...they would be more likely to accept through clearing..

Hi,

I resat few modules this yr to try and get an A in chemistry i failed to do so but just about managed to get into Aston with ABB for Optometry. So if you are really passionate about optometry you can raise your grades.

Hi thanks for the advice and i think i will be resitting although i asked my headteacher and he said its not worth the risk but he is pretty useless..
i also emailed my tutor and he said try another course through clearing to get you to ure chosen career but i still rather resit as i really am passionate about optometry and reallly want to go to aston.
Also i will be working from home revising myself and evrything, would this be ok?
sorry for all the questions but did you guys who resat work from home or school/college?
Did you also have to change your personal statement and mention you are a resitting student? which other unis did u appy to?
i did try through clearing at anglia ruskin and bradford but they said they woudnt accept me as they had students with ABB which is what they were looking for.

I want to apply for optometry but didn't get the right AS grades in my subjects, biology, chemistry, physics and sociology is there anything i could do than re-sit these exams?
And my predicted is not right either can anyone help me PLEASE!
