That's only if it's Computing Science (i.e. maths/logic) surely? Some computing degrees aren't quite so hard (e.g. programming, java, web design etc)

He was talking about the subject computing, taught in schools.

Most computing degrees at University level are Computer Science or a CompSci Specialism like AI or SE are they not...?

Also Programming is just like logical maths and a lot of systems is just like modular maths.
They aren't being harsh, I got BBBBB in my highers and the entry was AABB but my offer was still AB in my Advanced Highers.
Just so you know my highers were: English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Technological Studies. and my advanced highers are physics and applied maths.
I was lucky enough to get an unconditional to strathclyde... although I turned it down because I'm going to glasgow.

To give you an idea what it takes to get that from there, I went on a day where all the other students had had unconditionals, the lowest grades anyone had was AAABB/AAAAC highers.

I had AAAAA so I got unconditionals at Glasgow uni too, and I prefer that course so I'll be off there in september

Edit: I see now this thread is older than time itself...

yeah but im doing H eng H maths and H rmps i thot they could offer a conditional of like AAB or something but they didnt:frown:

ps one of my C's will hopefully become a B

I'm not sure what you're applying for, but I'm at Strathy and I found it was really competitive to get in. The quoted entry requirements were like ABB (a-levels not highers), but I got a conditional in the end for way higher than that (A*AA). So it depends which course but in my experience the competition for places is pretty tough.

You seem to be working on the assumption your C is gonna turn into a B. Strathclyde won't be. Right now you have BCC, thats the fact. So to get ABBBC you would need to take another 4 highers, because right now you could only use one of your C's, if that makes sense.

Hey is there a reason why you preferred Glasgow over starth?

Thread is 14 years old so not likely to be a very up to date opinion. I would start a new thread if you are trying to decide between them.
Hope you got in <3
