Kingston or Hertfordshire

Whats better; kingston or hertfordshire?, I'm currently holding an offer for kingston but thru clearing hertfordshire offered me a position as well so I may release myself through clearing and come hertfordshire. In kingston im doing human geography, in hertfordshire its computer science. I have never seen hertfordshire uni but if i choose it he said do it soon so I can get good chance of accomodation. Whats your views?

Kingston's a nicer place. No idea about the other stuff.

Computer science is very popular at herts, as Dan said, hatfield is a bit of a hole. HOWEVER, life as a student there isn't too bad. It's up to you, they are 2 completely different courses so drawing comparisons of unis will be hard!

PS: I am one of those really DULL people who chose which uni to go based on how good the course was run and not how many pints and girls I could nail :wink:

To be fair, anyone who chooses Herts for the night life's a right idiot.

Don't get me wrong, it's still entirely possible to have fun. I do. But compared to other unis, the nightlife's pretty ****e.

Im going herts in sep from what ive seen its really good...i would base your decision on what course you want to do as that is more important

Yeah clearing was really good; thing is I can get the same course im doin in kingston in Herts too, so i'm just wondering, in general what is the better place?

Kingston will most def have a better night life: greater london and all that. However, saying that, Hatfield is not too far from London if you want to visit that much. It only takes 21 mins on the fast train and 30 on the slower one. St Albans is also a decent place to go out, bars, pubs and one GREAT club :biggrin:

(IMO).
As dan said, really, dont come to herts if you want a night life right at your doorstep but you can still have fun :smile:

How diverse is this uni too, are there many asians? Plus wahts the town like in general?

They'll both have plenty of diversity so close to London. The problem is that a lot of people, due to their relative locations, tend to go home at weekends or not stay in halls at all.

As Dan said I hate Kingston. I absolutely hated it when I went to visit there. That's just my pov based on the engineering department and it just didn't feel safe there.

Rishi (rich? lol) which uni do you go to? newayz i'm likley taking herts nw as I deffo feel dat most of all and feel much more excited about going there, I don't want to do computer science but want to do human geography combined with economics, I think they will take me in so its blessed. If not I might just do economics single honours or stick with computer science depending on what I find has more scope. Definetly want to go there tho, they sent me accomodation pack so i'm trying to send that of soon to hopefully get ensuite, if not its ite. Thanks. Min.

WOO for herts...i picked accommodation which where in the same band and got my first choice...and i applied late

MPK, they generally advise you to have different choices on your form is possible so that they can try to get you into a place you'll like if one is available.

Herts accepted me, jus gtsa wait for kingston to release me and my clearing passport to arrive then opefully I get into de hav accomodation. Thanks for all your help.
