Why do some many people believe in astrology?
Is there any form of scientific reasoning behind it? Or is it no more than a modern day superstition?
Discuss.

It's absolutely a pseudoscience - there is no scientific proof to support it.
I think perhaps many are susceptible because things associated with the practice like horoscopes are vague enough for people to project their experiences/traits onto the statements. If you want to believe in it, therefore, I could see how you can become increasingly interested in it.

It’s a load of absolute nonsense that people use to try to justify there actions ‘oh Jupiter is closer to the sun so that means I’m going to be more angry’

Some churches, sects and other religious groups are very keen on astrology.
Probably a mixture of tradition, culture, convenience and entertainment.

Just a hobby people use to make the most of the surrounding planets for the fun of it! Does the forces. all the way from Neptune make my head go sideways? I think not!

Me too, ancient people looked at the stars and created stories from the constellations to try to analyse human behaviours...it's so fascinating and a great work of the imagination.

It's a type of fantasy worldbuilding. And we shall leave it at that. Just like 'believe' in Harry Potter.

This is pretty much how I see it. I don't believe the positions of the stars literally have any influence on peoples lives but I find the symbolism and mythology behind astrology interesting. Also the psychological aspect- the way people seek patterns in things and find ways to interpret them to fit their own lives.
