A parking permit at Uni of Leeds residences is £150 for the academic year (£175 at James Baillie Park). Not all residences have parking and some have more than others (info in brochure and on website).
However, parking permits for campus are like gold dust (even for staff there's about a 5 year waiting list - more if you live within 5 miles) and, unless you've got a blue badge, as a student, you're unlikely to get one.
Public transport in Leeds is brilliant and you don't need a car to get to and from residences, uni and town so if you are bringing one, you're really only going to be using it evenings, weekend, trips home, out of town supermarket shopping etc.

Ok, thank you accomoffice
a car is a waste in Leeds, the distances you need to travel are small and once you have one you will just get asked for taxi rides by other people, car parking is ok when you are in halls but when you are living in a shared house there is not a lot of space for street parking

overall I would say leave the car at home
