I really want to apply for land economy next year. I am currently in my first year of A-level. I did not have the most stellar GCSE grades (4A*s, 6As and 1B) but I think I may be able to achieve minimum A*A*A at A-level. How were your GCSE grades?

Thanks

7A*s 2As, we only did nine. I think that should hopefully be enough to get me an interview!

Hi guys, first year LandEc at Cambridge here! I know a lot of you will be getting offers in soon and may have some questions about the course, cambridge life, etc, before you decide to put it as your firm choice. If so then feel free to message me, I was in the same boat last year so I know how sh*t scary it can feel

Hi there,

Just wondering, is full a level maths absolutely necessary? I do AS maths and economics. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what were your GCSE grades and A-Level predictions?

Thanks,
Lana

There are no required subjects for LandEc. Maths is "useful" but not a requirement.

Hey, I have just received an offer to study Land Economy at Downing College. I am unsure whether I want to study straight econ at Nottingham or Land Economy at Cambridge, and was wondering if you had a similar issue, how you decided and any possible advice you could give me ( I come from a background of Econ, Maths and Business A levels).
Any reply will be greatly appreciated, Billy

Do you have an idea of what you want to do after university?

And have you had a look at:

Sort of, I'm definitely thinking something related to economics now like finance or banking, but I'm obviously open to change depending on how I find certain modules etc in the course. And yeah I've checked their website out, I just can't choose between their course and Nottingham's one :/

Hey!
Great to see people interested in studying Land Economy at Cambridge! I just completed my B.A. in Land Economy at Downing College and got a First every year. I remember how hard it was when I was interviewing to find good material online: since Land Economy is such a small degree, there simply isn’t the same amount of good information online on how to prepare for interviews. My school was not very helpful either, as they didn’t really know the course. If any of you are interested, I would be happy to give you either online or in-person (if you are in London) tuition//advice/practice interviews to maximise your chances of getting in. I remember my interview experience very well, and also helped my Director of Studies think of questions to ask candidates for interview in my last year. I have helped someone with the entire application process before who successfully received an offer from Pembroke College. If you’re interested, send me a message! Aless

Hi Aless, I am applying for Land Economy at Trinity College. How can I contact you? I hope we can work together to prepare for the interviews.

The post was 9 months ago, so for the 2017/18 cycle. This is an ongoing megathread, for all years of entry
