The Student Room Group

What places are you missing during lockdown?

We’ve all been hibernating in our homes for a while now and starting to crave normality! There are many things that we’ve been missing about Sheffield, including our lunch break jacket potatoes from Feast and walking through the beautiful Peace Gardens, especially now it’s Spring! :flower2:

We want to know what our students have been missing about Sheffield and what our applicants are missing from their hometown? Let us know below! :h:

Hi @TheArchitect365,

We didn't think we would ever say it but we are really missing the gym too & can't wait to get back our fitness routines! Boxing sounds like a lot of fun, I can see why you would miss it to wind down. We are also missing coming into the office, it really makes you appreciate the little things!

The gym, gym, gym, gym
restaurants, running club, the great outdoors
I just want to go for a swim, to be honest. I was in a bit of a slump with exercise before all this, but it's made me realise that I took my (very expensive) membership for granted, so I will certainly get back into good habits. Though I dread to think how crowded it will be when we're first allowed back.

Yay well done!

I know that you have anxiety, how you might be dreading the crowds when you go back but the chances are people will probably be avoiding it out of coronavirus fear

I'm not dreading the crowds too much actually, crowds aren't what causes my anxiety. And I am recovering from covid as we speak so it's not like I'll get infected again.

Oh really? Poor thing.

Also, don’t think that you are invincible to it if you’ve got it already, I don’t want to get you worried though

Hi @TheCoolBro @Rupert2020 @yzanne - I can relate to missing the gym, I have had to resort to running but its definitely not as enjoyable!

- Rachel
I am very much missing the gym, restaurants, socialising with friends and family.
Cheeky Nando’s
In the before times I did a Universities Fair next to the rep from Sheffield and got to overhear all the great things there are to see and do there! It's definitely on my list of places to visit once this is all over. We have a castle, an extinct volcano and some gorgeous beaches here in Edinburgh - maybe we could convince our unis to let us do an exchange visit?

Hi and @ReadingMum
Restaurants is a good one, i'm also feeling myself missing these. It's a great way to normally socialise with friends and eat my favourite foods!

-Rachel
McDonald's and shopping.
