I've received my accommodation details today. Single room, self-catered at Flat 9 Crescent Flats. Anyone else there?

Should be about 140 people in the 26 flats. It says my flat has 5 people in total which should be fun.

According to this: http://accommodation.dept.shef.ac.uk/downloads/self-catering/CRES.pdf 18 is on the 1st floor and 19 is on the 2nd.

oo wow architecture sounds interesting!! you'll have to fill me in on it, i don't know much about it! i hope the rooms are ok!? we seem to have a pretty good location!? well done in your a levels as well by the way!

haha i'm pretty obsessive when it comes to architecture so you'll have to forgive me if i start talking about crap that only i'm interested in :biggrin:

philosophy sounds brilliant aswell, if i didn't make my offer for architecture i was going to try and get onto a Phil. course, as that was what i wanted to do originally. Hope i havn't made a bad decision. Well done on you're grades aswell!

Yeah i hope the rooms are ok, i've heard they're pretty nice... but yeah the location looks great.

i've never really thought about whether it was just boys or mixed. I'll have to try and find out, not that i'm bothered either way i guess.

wish i could do some philosophy but because of the full on'ness of the Architecture degree we don't get to do any optional modules :frown:

but there's an element of philosophy to architecture anyways so it should be pretty cool. I really can't wait now.

wish i could do some philosophy but because of the full on'ness of the Architecture degree we don't get to do any optional modules :frown:

you could always just turn up to a couple of philosophy lectures if you liked, they dont go in for roll calls or anything in first year philosophy because there's so many people, loads of people do it as an optional module, so no-one would notice or care that you're not registered for the module. I took one of my friends who was visiting to a philosophy lecture, she spent the whole time drawing snails so I guess she wasn't that impressed, but I usually find the lectures quite interesting!
trust me philosophy gets less enthralling when you have to write essays on it and learn it for exams, in a way you're better off keeping it as a hobby :smile:

oh and if you're interested there's a philosophy society who read a bit of philosophy and meet up to talk about it, generally in the pub i think, lol
