Yeah I'd imagine that the directors and people go out of their way to make sure that the child isn't affected negatively by the film.

And presumably the parents allow it because it's a big opportunity and the child has acting aspirations.

How about the girl from the film version of Lolita? she spent two hours hitting on/tapping Jeremy Irons, and she was like 14....parental fail?

My mate's lil sister was an extra in a film called Penetration Angst when she was like 11, which i still can't find on the internet anywhere because it's so messed, and her mum just didn't let her watch it. Sucks to be her.
